Become one of our invaluable volunteers.
We have many people who kindly give their time to help the charity out in a variety of ways. For some this is an opportunity for them to 'give something back', for others it is a chance to gain some work experience.
The most important thing to realise about being a volunteer for Surrey Air Ambulance is that you can fit it around your other commitments. We have volunteers who donate an hour or so a week to help empty over 50 collection boxes within Surrey, others donate a morning or afternoon to attend an event like the Redhill Air Show. Still some others donate an evening to attend a cheque presentation on our behalf.
Surrey Air Ambulance appreciates that lots of people lead very busy lives, which is why we do our best to work with each of our volunteers to find which volunteering opportunities are best suited to their needs whether that be to pass a few hours or gain some work experience.
There are currently volunteering opportunities available:
- Collection Box Steward
- Cash Collections Steward
- Driver/ Courier
- Events Merchandiser
- Office Assistant
- Representative
- Public Speaker
You would be expected to complete a half day training session for the area of volunteering. Some tasks require simple training that can be done over the telephone; others may require you to attend a course at a specific time and location.
If you would like to volunteer for Surrey Air Ambulance you can download our application form at the bottom of this page. Please try and complete all of the form as the information you provide will help us build a picture of our volunteers and ensure we continue to use them to their full potential.
You will be asked to provide the names and addresses of two references and once we receive your completed application form we will contact those people. When we have received both references you will be invited to our offices in Marden for a personal tour and an informal chat with our Events and Volunteer Coordinator about what opportunities you are interested in. Once you have decided what you would like to do we will organise your training and once that is completed away you go! Invaluable work experience for the benefit of the community.
