Old clothes and shoes can now be recycled and turned into money! L W Sait & Sons have launched a new Textile Bank initiative to raise funds for the Surrey Air Ambulance.
On Monday 18th
January Jim McAllister, Chief Executive of Dunsfold
Park took delivery of a new Clothes and Shoes recycling bank to be sited near
the Estate's main entrance, off Stovolds Hill.
Jim McAllister said, "With an
expected annual minimum return to the Surrey Air Ambulance Trust of £750, we
are delighted to make space available for the textile banks at
Last year was a busy year operationally
for the Surrey Air Ambulance. The helicopter flew a total of 694 missions and
carried 96 patients. Of these, 46% were road traffic crashes and 13% medical
emergencies. The Air Ambulance has made a significant difference to many of the
patients that they have treated, some of whom would not have been alive today,
had it not been for the skills of their specialist doctors and paramedics.
