One year after the Surrey Air Ambulance service was launched, and two years after becoming its first business sponsor, Dagenham Motors has renewed their support for the life saving service. Dagenham Motors became the first sponsor of the Surrey Air Ambulance in June 2006, when the company provided the ever popular Ford Fiesta to enable the Surrey County Fundraiser to travel around the county raising essential funds for the life saving helicopter.

Gordon Stewart, General Manager of Dagenham Motors in Surrey, said: “As a local business we are keen to play our part in supporting the community, and are pleased that we can help such a vital service for the benefit of the county.”

The air ambulance delivers a doctor and flight paramedic to a patient within minutes of an emergency. Since its launch in June 2007, over 800 missions have been flown. The service receives no central Government or National Lottery funding, and so relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to raise the £1.5 million needed each year to keep it operational.

Surrey Air Ambulance County Fundraiser, Julie Jenkinson, said: “It was great to welcome Gordon to our base and introduce him to the crew. The support of Dagenham Motors is crucial in helping us to get around Surrey, enabling us to attend fundraising activities to keep the air ambulance flying. I cannot thank them enough for their continued support”
