Gez Parks of White & Son’s said: “We were certainly close to needing air rescue when we finally reached the end of our challenge and although exhausted were jubilant upon our success. We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who has sponsored us and we are delighted to report that we have exceeded our target and raised £680 for the charity so far which is fantastic news!”
The challenge encompasses 15 of the highest peaks in North Wales, each over 3000ft. On the first day they started off at 6am, to scramble
over the legendary Crib Goch and up to the summit of Snowdon, before dipping
back down into Nant Peris and re-ascending to the Glyder Ranges,
finishing in the dusk of the late evening. On the second day they tackled the
imposing Mount Tryfan
and then the high and wild Carneddau, to complete this awe inspiring challenge
across the best of the Welsh
Mountains.
Julie Jenkinson County Fundraiser for Surrey Air Ambulance commented, “I had the
easier challenge of welcoming the team to our base at Dunsfold Park.
It’s great for our supporters to be able to meet the crew and see the
helicopter first hand, and it is the least we can do after all their hard work
helping to raise money for this life saving Air Ambulance.
